ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY OF TOULOUSE CAPITOLE


Embarked on a path of excellence and professionalism since its creation in 1970, the University of
Toulouse Capitole finds its origins in the Faculty of Canon Law created in 1229 by King
Saint Louis. Today it is a University of Law, Economics and Management emphasizing international
networks to support scientific collaboration, student and academics exchanges over three campuses
in France: Toulouse, Montauban and Rodez and three sites abroad: Vietnam, Morocco and Vanuatu.

It is one of the only two French establishments to feature in the top 100 of the Shanghai World Academic ranking in Economics/Business studies.

ABOUT TOULOUSE SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS

Originally founded by French economist Jean-Jacques Laffont back in the 1980s, the TSE community now includes more than 150 international researchers who all strive for the same scientific excellence in order to create and share knowledge. Supported by the University of Toulouse Capitole, as well as the French Scientific Research Centre (CNRS), the Institute of Agronomic Research (INRA), the School for Advanced Studies in Social Sciences (EHESS) and corporate partners, TSE also focuses on teaching through its undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral schools within the university.

TSE brings together over 140 international researchers, 100 PhD students and 40 staff members, the main research themes are: Behavioural and Experimental economics, Decision mathematics,

Development, Econometrics and Statistics, Environmental economics. Over the years, TSE has come to be one of the most dynamic and demanding research centers in economics worldwide, ranked today amongst the top 10 in the world and the top 3 in Europe within a privileged environment in the heart of the south-west of France.
